The gs-devel at ghostscript.com mailing list is intended for use by those
developing enhancements to Ghostscript.

Ghostscript is unsupported, although Artifex Software and others do
work to fix bugs, support for specific printers is not generally
available.

In particular, the ink jet market is so fast paced and proprietary
with manufacturers striving to make their printers work better than
their competitor's (and use more ink) that support is virtually
impossible. HP, Lexmark, Epson and others do not generally document
their proprietary raster data formats and often embed "secrets" in
their Windows drivers that any outside agency cannot duplicate.

I suggest that you send your query to the comp.lang.postscript NNTP
news group in case someone has reverse engineered the Windows driver
and is willing to help you.

There is work underway to add hooks from GS to Omniprint which as I
understand it has driver information for lots of specific inkjet
printer, but I don't know if the HP 882 is one of them.

Good luck.

Regards,
Ray Johnston
