The previous message on this topic had an underlying assumption, namely,
that two different font resource objects cannot have the same BaseFont name.
While the PDF specification allows this, Acrobat 3 can't deal with it.
Acrobat 4 and 5 can handle it, but I think they too may get confused if a
single file has more than one font subset with the same BaseFont name (minus
the XXXXXX+ prefix). What I do know definitely is that this issue has
caused literally years of frustrating struggle, and that switching to a
design in which multiple gs_fonts with the same data are merged into a
single PDF font resource should eliminate this problem definitively.
