Dear Mr. Jim Witte,

sounds quite interesting. Although I never touched with Apple
Newton, I heard that the resource available on Newton is quite
limited - according to http://www.ericlindsay.com/palmtop/new110.htm,
available memory is a few megabytes. possibly it's smaller than
modern PostScript printer, there might be no space to store
additional PS fonts. By using PCMCIA cards, you can use big storage?

To deal with PDF, the lowest version would be gs5.x. Although
it's insufficient to deal with latest PDF documents, I suppose
still there are many UNIX users who uses precompiled gs5.x
binaries.
BTW, If you've already consider about porting of xpdf to Newton,
please let me know.
