NEW BUGS
--------
#686791 - USER - Device bitcmyk produces wrong output
assign: ??
If there is an Vector Object in either Postscript or Pdf-Input which
color is 100% Cyan, 0% Magenta, 0% Yellow, 1% Black the Output in the
device bitcmyk is 100% Cyan, 100% Magenta, 100% Yellow, 100% Black.
This happen everytime the Cyan Value is larger 50%-55% and one of the
other colors is min 1%. The commandline and test file are given in
the bug report.
#686792 - INTERNAL - Empty PS file generates produces invalid PDF
reported by: alex
assign: igor?
Empty PS file is converted to PDF that has no pages. GS doesn't
report any errors. Acrobat Reader cannot open files witout pages.
Acrobat Distiller doesn't generate PDF from empty PS files. The
following file was used:
%!
%EOF
#686793 - USER - Spurious warning about "corrupted %%EOF marker"
assign: ??
Using the "pdlin" tool from
http://www.pdf-tools.com/en/products_evaluation.html in order to
protect/linearize a pdf file, the resulting output contains an
additional "%%EOF" marker which triggers the warning mentioned above;
I have been told that this (second) marker indeed complies to the
specification as found in chapter F.1 of the PDF Reference manual
(though its use is optional). Alex couldn't reproduce duplicate EOF,
but found that the EOF didn't have an EOL.
#686796 - CUSTOMER - tiffg4 device and incorrect halftone frequency
customer: #710
assign: ray?
Running the customer's file with:
gshead -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -r1270 -sDEVICE=tiffg4
-sOutputFile=test_%d.tiff sepbox2.ps
Gives 4 tiff files, each with a gray box in the lower left corner. In
the first three images, the halftone frequencies are correct, but in
the last image, they are not. I confirmed a noticable difference with
-r300. This behavior seems to depend on whether /AccurateScreens is
defined true or false. But defining it true results in moiree effects
for some screening angles so this is not a solution for this problem.
#686797 - CUSTOMER - Colors slightly off in PostScript file
customer: #651
assign: ray?
The customer's file looks different when rendered by Ghostscript than
the correct image provided in the JPEG.
#686798 - CUSTOMER - /typecheck in --setcolorspace-- with
-sDEVICE=x11cmyk
customer: #190
assign: dan?
Customer's file fails with /typecheck in --setcolorspace-- when using
the x11cmyk driver, but works fine in the normal x11 driver. Customer
also reports that switching languagelevel in gs_ll3.ps to 2 instead of
3 seems to workaround the problem.
#686799 - USER - notcompat
assign: giles?
User trying to compile Ghostscript on a Digital workstation gets the
following build error:
cc: Error: ./src/szlibc.c, line 32: In this declaration, the type of
"st_zlib_state" is not compatible with the type of a previous
declaration of "st_zlib_state" at line number 45 in file
./src/szlibx.h. (notcompat) public_st_zlib_state();
#686800 - USER - Error converting PostScript file with vertical
Japanese text
assign: igor?
hen converting the attached PostScript file with gs8.x, 7.x, the
following error occurs: rangecheck; Offending command: .buildcmap This
document converts fine with Adobe Distiller and Jaws PDFcreator. I've
confirmed in CVS HEAD.
#686801 - USER - ps2pdf (Problem when I open with Illustrator)
User distills file with Ghostscript and the resulting PDF works fine
in GS and in AR. The file has thicker lines in Illustrator. Waiting
for a real test file.
#686802 - TOPTEN - Stroke Overprint lost making PDF
customer: #1110
assign: dan?
When making PDF of the attached PostScript from Adobe Illustrator via
Quark XPress, the overprint for a stroke operation gets lost. To see
the problem, RIP the PostScript to an overprinting CMYK output file
format at "high" resolution (say, 900DPI). Convert the PostScript to
PDF as specified below, then RIP THAT the same way as the PostScript.
Compare the CMYK channels around where the red "stripe" intersects
with its blue background, and you'll see that the inteneded trap works
in the PostScript (it's overprinted) but fails from the PDF (it's
knocked out).
Commandline: gs -sOutputFile=pdf -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -sDEVICE=pdfwrite
-dCompatibilityLevel=1.3 -sProcessColorModel=DeviceCMYK -c
.setpdfwrite -f overprint2.ps
#686803 - CUSTOMER - Font sheet problem
customer: #411
assign: ray?
The attached file FontSheets.ps fails when processed with GSTest
(attached) but works fine with GSView.
