[gs-devel] Rotating output -- HOW?

Hello!

Since I have a big NovaJet PRO 42e InkJet-Printer (prints up to 42" width), I
am searching for a way to reduce paper usage. Everything what comes out, is in
Portrait orientation. This means that the long border of the printed output is
in parallel to the physical paper border / in direction of paper advance.

Well, this is very nasty when printing smaller printings on wide paper, so I
want to rotate the whole thing 90 degrees to get the short border aligned with
the paper margin.

I already tried to add formats like "a4l" and "a3l" to gs_statd.ps where I
swapped the values for width/height. I also tried to add .../landscap.ps
before the filename when calling ghostscript.

The result is that:
a.)  landscap.ps really rotates the image, but I still have to use a big
     enough paper to get this work. So I get a wide empty space after the
     printout, because the paper definition is still in portrait.
b.)  When I combine 'a3l' with 'landscap.ps', I get a square-shaped output
     and no rectangle.


Is there a way to tell GhostScript 6.53 to use an A4/A3/A2 Landscape Paper
from one prefix file (as with landscap.ps)?
