[gs-devel] gs vs CID fonts in pdf 1.4

I've a pdf here that says it was generated by ID 2.0.1 via Adobe PDF
Lib 5.0.  Consequently, the fonts are CID keyed t1 and ttf.

I'd like to print it out, but neither gs7 nor gs8 will render either
the pdf itself or ps generated by (the linux version of) acroread 5.0.5.

Do I need something more recent that 8.0 to print this file?
