I uploaded the documents with this issue to this location:

http://www1.wpkg.org/xps/

It contains two ~4 MB documents:
- 74584.xps - "original" document, doesn't show corruption
- 74584.pdf - converted PDF with "black areas"

The document was converted with these options:

gxps -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -dCompatibilityLevel=1.4 -sOutputFile=74584.pdf 74584.xps
